woods and waters wine tasting: Mionetto Organic Prosecco Tarima Blanco Santa Julia Malbec Benzinger Cabernet Sauvignon

Tonight, in light of our guests, we will be tasting organically made, sustainably grown wines from around the country. These wines take special care to lessen the impact they have on the environment and the methods they use to grow and produce wines.

Our wine tasting is from 4pm to 7pm on August 24, 2017. We will sample:

Mionetto Organic Prosecco

Founded in 1887 by Francesco Mionetto in the small village of Valdobbiadene, Mionetto has an established reputation for quality, tradition and innovation. In the heart of the Prosecco region, Mionetto produces exceptional wines with consistent national and international acclaim.

Color: Brightly yellow in color
Nose: Delicate notes of elderflower and green apple
Mouth: An explosion of green apple on the palate with refreshing crispness from the delicate bubbles.

Tarima Blanco

“Tarima Blanco is a unique white wine produced from three of Spain’s most important indigenous white grapes. Merseguera is indigenous to this part of Spain.

Floral and aromatic, serve crisp whites as an aperitif or with lighter fare. Match with an herb and lemon goat cheese spread, a Thai seafood and noodle salad or garlicky shrimp over angel hair pasta.” – Bodegas Volver

Santa Julia Malbec

Santa Julia Made with Organic Grapes is a range of wines coming from certified organic vineyards and it expresses our goal of emphasizing organic agriculture, peacefully coexisting with the environment.

Color: Violet-intense purple, concentrated and bright.
Nose: A complex nose with varietals notes of ripe, fruits, figs, prunes, jam and raisins.
Mouth: A good body, with sweet tannins and well balanced by acidity. A lingering and complex finish.

Benziger Cabernet Sauvignon

“This Cabernet Sauvignon has a graceful yet profound entrance with similar flavors to what we saw last season, with an elegant, juicy entry and berry cobbler, cinnamon and vanilla flavors. Mocha and wood spices unite, layer by layer, to form a finish that is rich with seamless tannins.” – Benziger Family Winery
