by Jonathan Gaby on August 31, 2017

Today is the last day of August and as we are working in the shop stocking wines, putting up bourbons, and prepping food for our dinner service, we are grateful for your loyal patronage of Capital Cellars.

Wine Tasting 08-31-2017 -

As we write this, the aroma of bourbon bacon jelly is floating through the store, dancing between bottles of our wine and bourbons.

Tonight we are featuring a variety of wines from Spain, France, California, and Italy. Read for more information about our wines and we can’t wait to see you tonight at Capital Cellars from 4-7pm on August 31st!

Castillo de Monseran Garnacha n/v, Spain

“Castillo de Monseran comes from the region of Cariñena, in the heart of Aragón and the home of the garnacha grape.

The vineyards are located in the higher areas providing a cooler climate, ideal for the development of fruit flavors. The grapes were shortly macerated and then coolly fermented to make a soft full flavored wine with intesnse color and well-balanced red fruite finish. To be drunck with all meat dishes or slightly chilled with any starter” – Castillo de Monseran

Moulin de Gassac 2016 Guilhem (Syrah & Carignan blend) France

“The Guilhem expresses the Guibert family – “Vigneron” of the Daumas Gassac Grand cru wines – philosophy of farming small hillside vineyards sites in harmony with Mother Nature. Made from twenty five to fifty year old vines on the sunny and stoney slopes of the Languedoc, this wine captures the essence of Southern France.” – Daumas Gassac Wines

Jarhead Read 2011 Red Wine

“The 2014 Jarhead Red offers generous aromas of plum, cherry and spice with a hint of smokiness. A rich, mouth filling texture unfolds with flavors of black cherry, blackberry and cassis. Notes of vanilla emerge on a broad, juicy finish. This boldly flavored wine is a perfect match for classic American fare, such as grilled steak, barbecued chicken and hamburgers.” – Jarhead Read Wines

Riondo Prosecco Spago Negro

“Riondo Prosecco Spago Nero is an authentic sparkling wine that celebrates the easy-living spirit of Italy. This vino frizzante boasts fresh aromas of Golden Delicious apple, pear, and acacia blossom. Its persistent effervescence is followed by a crisp, clean finish. While delicate and fruity on the palate, this prosecco is the perfect choice to either sip by itself or mix to make a bubbly cocktail.” – Riondo

We are excited to see you tonight from 4-7pm at Capital Cellars!
